a5c7b9f00b Frank Castle, a.k.a. &#39;The Punisher&#39;, wakes up in a run-down neighborhood and leaves his van to do his laundry. On his way to the laundromat, he witnesses a gang led by Goldtooth assaulting a group of prostitutes, but minds his own business. But when the gang mugs a boy named DeShawn, Frank goes to a convenience store to buy a bottle of Jack Daniel&#39;s and use it to club the thugs to death before crippling Goldtooth and pouring the whiskey on him for one of the prostitutes to set the gang leader on fire. Frank then collects his laundry and has DeShawn keep one of his signature t-shirts before leaving the neighborhood. Frank Castle is staying in a bad neighborhood, where he encounters a gang that terrorizes its residents. Did anyone else even realise this existed? It flew thoroughly under my radar.<br/><br/>Now I&#39;m one of the few people who really enjoyed The Punisher (2004) though Thomas Jane was hardly the best choice of Frank Castle he did a solid job and the movie was really watchable despite Travolta&#39;s best efforts.<br/><br/>This 10 minute short is literally Castle doing laundry and taking a couple of minutes out to talk to wheelchair bound shopkeep Ron Perlman before beating up a bunch of thugs with a bottle of whiskey.<br/><br/>I don&#39;t understand how or why Jane &amp; Perlman agreed to do with 8yrs after the original movie but it is somewhat overwhelming and doesn&#39;t fit with The Punisher character.<br/><br/>It&#39;s almost like he is apprehensive about even helping! I suppose this is a harmless enough watch for fans but brings nothing new to the franchise and won&#39;t help with getting The Punisher into the real Marvel universe.<br/><br/>The Good: <br/><br/>Thomas Jane <br/><br/>The Bad: <br/><br/>I don&#39;t know why it even exists <br/><br/>Frank Castles behaviour is out of character <br/><br/>Perlman is wasted <br/><br/>Things I Learnt From This Short: <br/><br/>Jack Daniels bottles are made of adamantium Excellent to see Frank Castle return, especially with Thomas Jane at the helm. I wasn&#39;t expecting too much when I stumbled on this short, however after seeing it, well, I want another Punisher movie with him in it! Part of Warzone&#39;s failure was that it just didn&#39;t carry off the dark and brooding atmosphere that Tom Jane projects. Aside from that, the atmosphere of the short itself is really nicely put together, from the exterior street shots to the dreary interiors.<br/><br/>10/10 from me, cant see how this could&#39;ve been better and let&#39;s just hope the studios realise that Tom Jane can be put to better use than bit parts in TV Shows and convince him to reprise his role in another big budget Punisher!
